In the Indian state of Assam, at least 15 people were injured during a wild leopard’s attack.
Wild leopards typically do not attack humans unless provoked, but a recent video on social media shows one leaping over a barbed wire fence and attacking a moving van in Assam, India. The incident left at least 15 people injured.
The individuals injured in the wild leopard attack in Assam, India sustained bites, but are expected to fully recover.
Officials say that the animal first attacked forest workers at the Rain Forest Research Institute on the outskirts of the city of Jorhat. It then left the campus and went into nearby villages by hiding in tea gardens.

Ranjit Konwar, a divisional forest officer in Jorhat, said: “Some residents had a close shave as the leopard was roaming in their courtyards. Many of the injured were bitten and needed hospitalisation but they seem to be out of danger now.”
Following a two-day hunt, the animal was tranquilized on Thursday, and after a medical checkup, it will be released into Assam’s Kaziranga National Park, which is home to the biggest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses in the world.
