As road closures were in effect, first responders, including mounted police, were in the area. One ambulance has been seen departing the location.

The shooting occurred near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Highland Avenue, according to reports.

According to witnesses on the site, the incident occurred around 9.30 p.m., shortly after the game ended.

Following the gunfire, fans departing the venue reported seeing a swarm of people running. According to some reports, people who had left the venue were ordered back inside for their own safety.

Second gunfire was reported near Water Street and Juneau Avenue hours after the first. A number of people have been shot, and police have been dispatched to the location.

Near the Fiserv Forum, where the Bucks play, the Deer District has a lot of restaurants and businesses.

Fans lined the streets to watch the NBA playoff game in the district, which was hosting a watch party.

The Bucks reportedly placed an 11,000-person capacity limit for the viewing party.

Metal detectors were reportedly used to allow fans onto the plaza for the viewing party. However, the incident took place just east of the square.

The Bucks were defeated by the Boston Celtics 108-95.

“The incident took place outside of the Deer District area. We direct all questions to the Milwaukee Police Department.,” a Bucks representative said in a statement after learning of the shooting

The conference semifinals series is tied at three games each. A series-deciding game seven will be played on Sunday afternoon.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
