The San Francisco prosecutor, Bernardo Alberione, charged a man with the qualified murder of the gynaecologist Daniel Casermeiro (61), whose body was located in a field near the town of Luxardo Station, a few kilometres from the city of San Francisco.
Alberione told La Voz that the suspect is the only one detained in the investigation for the crime of the doctor, whose disappearance generated a broad search operation.
He is charged with “qualified homicide,” he said briefly. The prosecutor promised to give more details at the press conference he will give at 11.
One version indicates that the renowned doctor would have been shot in the neck, although there are still preliminary results of the autopsy that will determine the cause of death. It is believed that he was shot dead the same day of his disappearance, a week ago.
According to the information, Casermeiro presents a shot of a firearm and some burns to the body, mainly in the area where he entered the projectile, where he received the fire of the weapon.
The same sources said that the body is in an advanced state of decomposition, which suggests that the crime was committed the same day it disappeared, on December 19.
According to the newspaper La Voz de San Justo, the man arrested is named Gette and was arrested in the middle of an operation carried out by the Eter group in a house in San Francisco.
Casermeiro’s body, half-burned, was found on Thursday evening in a field located on the side of provincial route 1, near Luxardo, in the eastern province, Alberione said.
