If illegal racing is no longer dangerous enough, the owner of this 1,100-horsepower Audi RS3 found that things can always get worse, especially when you’re wrong at everything that can fail.
It all happened while the man was racing against a McLaren 720S on a highway (starting at the 4th minute of the video) and these terrible moments were recorded on video. The passenger in the car captured everything when at a speed of more than 250 km / h the engine fails.
But the ordeal didn’t end there: for an unknown reason the car starts to smoke and, as far as it can be seen from other cars, this happens because the vehicle caught on fire. The smoke was getting thicker and the breathing became increasingly difficult inside, to the point where the passenger had no choice but to open the door in full gear and lean out for air.
The solution to this situation might seem obvious: stop immediately, get out of the car, and use the fire extinguishers. However, it turns out that the brakes also failed, and even the brake parachute mounted on it. As the amount of smoke increases and the fire begins to gain ground, the two men have nothing left but to wait for the car to stop.
During these minutes you can feel the panic of the vehicle occupants, who do not know what is going to happen. Fortunately, the car comes to a stop and the two men get out of it. Just 30 seconds later the fire takes over the entire front of the car.
According to the authors of the video, the cause of the accident later became known: There was a brake line that was disconnected and it sprayed the brakes – which were heated to extreme temperatures – with brake fluid, which caught the fire.
