Scientists suggest that the coronavirus pandemic is now declining in the British Capital

In London, 30% of the population has had COVID-19. This conclusion was reached by scientists from the University of Cambridge, according to the report published on Friday, January 15.

“London, the north-west and north-east of the country remain the most affected areas from COVID in terms of the proportion of the recovered population: 30%, 26% and 21%, respectively. The lowest rate remains in the southwest of the country: 8%,” the study said.

At the same time, scientists do not exclude the percentage of Londoners who have been ill can reach up to 36%.

Now the spread of coronavirus in London is declining: a decrease in the number of new cases was noted in 22 districts of the city. As scientists suggest, the spread of the virus in London is now below 1, that is, the epidemic is declining.

In the country, the level of infection is also decreasing: for four days in a row, the number of new cases does not exceed 50 thousand. Thus, the lockdown introduced on January 4 took effect. The quarantine will last at least until mid-February, or even until March, the restrictions will then be lifted gradually.
