The governor of Florida Ron DeSantis has announced flag-lowering across the state to honor Rush Limbaugh, the Conservative radio commentator.

Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis announced the lowering of flags across the state to revere the late Conservative political commentator Mr Rush Limbaugh.

Rush Limbaugh was a famous radio personality and was known for hosting The Rush Limbaugh Show since 1988. He passed away on Wednesday, February 17 at the age of 70, and was suffering from lung cancer.

Two days after his death, on Friday Gov. Ron Desantis announced the lowering of flags at a News Conference in Palm Beach County where Limbaugh resided.

He said: “When there’s things of this magnitude, once the date of interment for Rush is announced, we’re going to be lowering the flags to half staff.”

He stated Limbaugh as “an absolute legend” and said, “He was a friend of mine and just a great person.”

The famous radio personality was also presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former US President Donald J. Trump. The medal was given after declaring that he was struggling at the final stages of lung cancer.

As reported by local media, the orders for lowering of flags across the state will be released after the funeral is planned.

Florida governor had also released a statement on his social media account after Mr Limbaugh passed away. The statement appreciated Rush as a personality and also a ‘Fellow Floridian’.

He also praised his skills as a Conservative political commentator.

“By providing a fresh Conservative perspective Rush attracted millions of listeners and paved the way for the proliferation of conservative media.  Rush was no flash in the pan – he was the dominant force in radio for decades.”

He also wrote of Rush as “the GOAT — of radio, conservative media, and of inspiring a loyal army of American patriots.”

In his first interview on Fox News since impeachment, former President Trump also paid homage to Limbaugh, saying he was “very very brave, he, in theory, could’ve been gone four months ago, he was fighting until the very end. Whether they loved him or not they respected him.”  Trump also called Limbaugh “man of the future” and praised his sense of patriotism.

While a part of social media was revering the late radio host, others had set the troll roll on!
