Law enforcement officers are asking for help in “establishing those responsible for the shooting.”
In the US state of Georgia on Saturday, October 23, one person was killed and seven others were injured in a shooting during a student party in Fort Valley.
It is noted that the incident occurred a few blocks from the campus of Fort Valley State University. The injured students are in stable condition, there is no threat to their lives.
Police also confirmed that the victim was not a Fort Valley State University student. Police did not provide further details about the victim, but asked the public to help in “identifying the person(s) responsible for the shooting.”

The incident occurred on the eve of the state university’s homecoming weekend.
The school’s Saturday morning alumni brunch and homecoming procession have been cancelled, according to school administrators.
“Our thoughts are with the students and their families as they recover,” the university said.
