US congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon’s stolen car has been located in Delaware, according to sources.
State police and the FBI found it in an area near Christiana Mall, sources said.
Five people were also reportedly located in the stolen vehicle.
Around 9 p.m., those individuals were apprehended by police in the parking lot of the Edge Fitness Club on the 2800 block of Fashion Center Boulevard.
At this moment, the precise involvement of those persons remains unknown.
Around 2:45 p.m., the carjacking occurred in the 1900 block of Pattison Avenue in FDR Park, following a tour led by members of Congress.
Scanlon was walking to her parked car when two males in a dark-colored SUV approached her.
According to authorities, both armed men demanded the keys to her vehicle.
They fled in her blue 2017 Acura MDX with the license number LKG-8893.
It was last spotted driving west on Pattison towards Penrose.

The vehicle had her personal cell phone, her government cell phone, her purse, and her identity.
Scanlon was not hurt. She didn’t want to say anything as she walked out of South Detectives.
In a statement, her office said she “thanks the Philadelphia Police Department for their swift response, and appreciates the efforts of both the Sergeant at Arms in D.C. and her local police department for coordinating with Philly PD to ensure her continued safety.”
Scanlon, a Democrat, is the representative for Pennsylvania’s 5th Congressional District, which includes a portion of South Philadelphia.
Mayor Jim Kenney was “appalled” to learn of the crime.
“It’s disheartening, and quite frankly infuriating, that criminals feel emboldened to commit such a reckless crime in the middle of the day in what should be a place of tranquility and peace-one of Philadelphia’s beautiful parks,” Kenney said in a statement. “My thoughts are with her during what I’m sure is a traumatic time.”
