Earlier this week reports appeared revealing that the US southern regions can expect a risk of tornadoes and heavy rainfall, as well as snow over the Rocky Mountains.

As the National Weather Service continues to release tornado warnings for many southern states including Texas, Oklahoma, Maryland and Illinois on Monday, social media users posted videos and photos showing the aftermath of a storm raging through the US region.

Before now, one person was reportedly died in a tornado in Georgia, with local power companies announcing that many services were affected and “a great deal of damage” had been caused. GreyStone Power company posted photos showing some of the impacts of the storm.

Clips allegedly captured in the vicinity of Blum, Texas, appear to show a tornado “dissipating” west of the area, while footage from Illinois also showing dark skies and whirlwinds assembling.

Another video clip from Oklahoma in Pittsburgh county, shared on Twitter, shows clouds darkening and lightning illuminating the skies above the city, as a tornado warning was announced in the area.

The storms stirred up on Sunday in Mississippi, with a massive tornado tearing through businesses, infrastructure and homes. Local Weather Service shared footage showing two businesses destroyed after the whirlwind.

Predictions suggest that serious weather conditions in the southern regions of the US will remain through Tuesday and possibly further into the week.
