A number of European countries have suspended or partially banned vaccination with AstraZeneca due to the detection of thrombosis in vaccinated patients.
Eight people have died in France due to thrombosis following vaccination with a drug from AstraZeneca.
This was reported on Friday, April 16, by the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines.
“9 new cases of thrombosis of atypical localization and 2 cases of isolated disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) were analyzed during this period, bringing the total to 23 cases since the start of vaccination, including 8 deaths. Among these cases, there are 21 cases associated with cerebral venous thrombosis and / or digestive thrombosis and 2 cases of isolated DIC. The 9 new cases concern people who present a profile different from that of previous periods. These are 4 women and 5 men, older (average age 62 years) who presented more digestive thrombosis,” as stated by the authority.

As of April 8, more than 2.72 million AstraZeneca vaccinations have been given in France. From 2 to 8 April, nine new cases of atypical localization of thrombosis and two cases of isolated disseminated intravascular coagulation were detected.
In total, 23 cases of thrombosis have been recorded in France since the start of vaccination of the country’s population against COVID-19 with AstraZeneca. Eight of them were fatal.

Meanwhile, the creators of the vaccine insist on its safety. The company said a detailed study of post-vaccination health data from more than 17 million people showed no increased risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis or thrombocytopenia.
Recall, on April 3, France again introduced a nationwide quarantine. It will last at least a month. So far, only 19 departments in France have had strict restrictions on public life. Now they are relevant for the whole country.
Residents were severely restricted from the possibility of movement – walking is allowed within ten kilometers of residence, travel between regions is excluded. Non-essential stores are still closed.
In all regions, a curfew is in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Paris time, which is prohibited from leaving home for no good reason.
