The AI of the Google Assistant is ready to embrace all Chromebooks

The Mountain View group announces today on the pages of its official blog a novelty for the Chrome OS operating system: the artificial intelligence of the Google Assistant will no longer be exclusive to the Pixel series laptops, but it is ready to debut also on the models marketed by other manufacturers. Simply activate the appropriate option among the settings.

Chrome OS: Google Assistant for all Chromebooks

The Chromebooks are thus enriched with a new feature, useful for giving voice commands to the device without even touching the keyboard or the touchpad: for example, it is possible to ask “Hey Google, create a new document” to start editing a text or spreadsheet, say “Ok Google, what appointments are there in my calendar?” to know the commitments on the agenda, “Hey Google, remind me to buy a cake tonight” to add a reminder or “Ok Google , put on some music ”to allow yourself to listen to some songs.

To draw the attention of the Google assistant to a laptop running the Chrome OS platform, you can also press the “magnifying glass + a” key combination, as shown in the animation above.

At the end of the post, bigG promises to return to talk about the operating system “within the next six weeks”, then after the event dedicated to hardware novelties organized by the Mountain View group in New York on October 15. Something is boiling in the pot.
