HP introduces the new version of the Specter x360 13 with 4K OLED panel

HP has introduced the new version of the Specter x360 13. The Ultrabook is now available with an optional OLED panel. In addition, the manufacturer builds the still quite new Intel CPUs of the series Ice Lake. It is a quad-core processor whose name is not mentioned. HP mentions the Core i5-1035G7. Also possible is the slightly higher clocking Core i7-1065G7. Both chips have a standard power budget of 12 watts, which HP may have changed.

The 13.3-inch 250 cd / m² panel usually resolves to Full HD. However, the OLED option offers 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and a higher illumination of 400 cd / m². The chassis is a bit narrower compared to its predecessor. This should make the device about 13 percent smaller than its predecessor. Nevertheless, HP specifies a runtime of at least nine hours under light load.

Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C, but no USB-A

The connections are the same. HP dispenses with the older, but still widespread USB-A standard. Instead, users get two Thunderbolt 3 jacks with USB Type C slot and an additional USB Type-C port. There is also a micro SD card reader. The WLAN module works with the current standard Wi-Fi 6.

The Specter x360 13 will probably be available in several configurations starting in October. The full-HD panel device has 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD supported by a 32 GB Intel Optane drive. The OLED model has 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. A full HD model with single 256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM is also planned. The starting price for the notebook is $ 1,100.
