IFA 2019: Huawei presents WiFi Q2 Pro brings high speed, low latency

HUAWEI WiFi Q2 Pro was officially announced at IFA 2019: this is the new solution for home mesh networks with an affordable price.

Huawei Wifi Q2 Pro - a a high speed wireless network solution

HUAWEI WiFi Q2 Pro stands as a wireless network solution for rather large rooms, such as multi-storey houses or with a garden. In fact, the new router combines the power of mesh technology with the reliability of the PLC network.

HUAWEI WiFi Q2 Pro: the details

The system uses the 5Ghz mesh network together with the hybrid PLC and WiFi network technology. The beating heart of this elegant router is the Gigahome 5630 gigabit chip produced by Huawei itself. Router communication with individual satellite units uses PLC Turbo technology to provide a stable and clean signal. This translates into a fast connection and a very low latency, fundamental especially when it comes to connecting smart home devices. There is also support for IPv6, an increasingly widespread and used communication protocol.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei: “If nothing changes, HarmonyOS may arrive with the Huawei P40”

In terms of performance, with a theoretical network speed of 1867Mb / s, the system is 50% -120% more powerful than the previous model.

Like its predecessor, HUAWEI WiFi Q2 Pro also offers plug and play functionality and the possibility of automatically selecting the transmission channel, so as to minimize the risk of interference from other extraneous networks. Up to 15 devices can be connected to each satellite unit, a decidedly higher number than the competition.

Prices and availability

The new hybrid mesh / PLC system will be available for sale in the 2nd week of October at selected sales points. As for prices, these will vary based on the configuration chosen:

  • € 169.90 for the edition with a router and a satellite;
  • € 229.90 for the version with one router and two satellites.
