Organizers of protests in Hong Kong on Friday called for a massive picket after it became known about the death of a student injured in a clash between protesters and police.

Last weekend, a young man during his performances was found in a parking lot in serious condition. On Friday, the hospital, where he was taken unconscious, announced his death.

At the same time, the representative of the Office for Hong Kong and Macau Affairs of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Xu Lin called the protesters in Hong Kong “bandits” after being loyal to the Beijing authorities The legislator was stabbed. He said it was “not only a serious criminal act, but also an act of violence in its purest form.”

The Chinese government supports the measures that the Hong Kong administration is taking to stop the violence and restore order in the city, said the deputy head of the prime minister State Council of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng.

Earlier, President Xi Jinping praised the work of the Hong Kong administration and stated a high degree of trust in its leader, Carrie Lam.

In Hong Kong, mass demonstrations have been going on for about five months now. The reason for this was the intention of the city authorities to amend the extradition law, which would allow expulsions of suspected crimes to be sent to countries that do not have an agreement with Hong Kong, including mainland China.

Due to protests, the adoption of these amendments was postponed, but protests, which are accompanied by clashes with the police, continue with new requirements, in particular, the introduction of a system of direct leadership elections in the administrative region.
