A rare natural phenomenon in the form of a blue flash and a blue jet in the upper layers of the Earth’s atmosphere hit the ISS cameras.
The European Atmosphere-Space Interactions Monitor (ASIM) observatory on the International Space Station captured a rare natural phenomenon called Elve. The video was published on the YouTube channel of the European Space Agency.
The video footage shows how a blue flash above the Earth’s surface, followed by a blue jet breaks upward.

The natural phenomenon is called Elve. It appears in thunderclouds and can reach large sizes in length. The luminous streams gradually fade away at an altitude of about 50 kilometers.
It is noted that the phenomenon is quite rare and lasts for several milliseconds.
