A gigantic asteroid, measuring approximately 270 meters wide and 120 meters narrowest, will cross our planet’s orbit on September 6.

This huge object, which flies at a speed of 50,530 km / h – or 14 kilometers per second – is almost twice as tall as the pyramid of Giza and its diameter is twice that of the Roman Colosseum, reports NASA’s Near-Earth Objects study center.

Experts note that this asteroid, identified as 465824 (2010FR) and first discovered in 2010, poses no danger to Earth and is constantly being monitored. Despite being one of the largest asteroids that will approach Earth, it is not the only one.

Over the course of the week, two more asteroids, the 2020 QG5, 2011 ES4 and 2020 PG6, are expected. Even these asteroids are relatively few, as over the month of October NASA estimates that there will be ten more asteroid flybys.
