After releasing the new betas of iOS 13.2, iPadOS 13.2, tvOS 13.2 and watchOS 6.1, the Cupertino firm has just released the third trial version of macOS Catalina 10.15.1 for developers. This update comes one week after sowing the second beta version and just over two weeks after launching macOS Catalina to the public.

The new beta version of macOS Catalina‌ can be downloaded using the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences, after installing the appropriate software from the Developer Center.

This first update of macOS Catalina seems to be on a smaller scale, so it focuses on performance improvements and bug fixes that could not be addressed in the first version of Catalina. Recall also that a provisional supplementary update was released two days ago with some bug fixes that needed to be addressed before version 10.15.1 was ready.

What Apple says about this update

Apple’s release notes for the first beta version of macOS 10.15.1 say the update introduces support for the AMD Navi RDNA eGPU architecture and brings some changes to the Photos app.

If you have not yet updated to macOS Catalina on a compatible Mac, this update should appear as available, and you should update as soon as possible, to keep your computer up to date.
