Interceptor: a small quadrocopter that can knock down an intruder drone

Anduril Industries, a US based startup has introduced a new security solution named as the Interceptor drone, which can be part of the perimeter penetration protection system and is designed to intercept intruder drones. Interceptor intercepts other drones by ramming. Serial production of interceptor drones has already begun.

It is believed that drones can become a potential threat to the safety of people and important infrastructure facilities, since such small aircraft can be used by terrorists. There have been cases of militants using commercial drones.

For this reason, many companies in the world are developing systems that would allow them to intercept drones. Such systems are usually a collection of radar and emitters. Other systems are being developed that use, for example, drones with networks or combat laser systems to intercept.

Interceptor is a small quadrocopter, equipped with a set of sensors for flying at night and daytime. The device can be connected to the Lattice AI smart perimeter defense system and is able to detect drones and automatically aim at them. After Interceptor has chosen a target for himself, he hangs under it.

To intercept the drone, an operator command is required. Having received it, the device accelerates sharply and knocks down an intruder drone. Interceptor is able to quickly reach speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. Other details about the new interceptor drones are not disclosed yet.
