Man, 23, gets high, cuts off his own penis after smoking marijuana

Doctors warn that cannabis can cause psychosis and behavioral issues as well as therapeutic benefits.

After consuming marijuana, a 23-year-old Thai guy turned insane and cut off his penis.

The 23-year-old Thai has been using marijuana on a regular basis for the past two years, according to reports.

He took a break three months ago, and when he returned to the habit and smoked 2 grams of marijuana, he experienced unwelcome erections and severe penis pain.

Furthermore, the man began to notice that the head of his penis was “deformed.”

To relieve the pain, he used scissors to cut the skin of his penis multiple times until cutting it off completely, leaving a stump of several centimeters.

The man was taken to the hospital two hours later with uncontrollable bleeding. He was given antibiotics and a tetanus injection at the hospital. Doctors cleansed the incision and made a hole for the man to urinate through.

Despite the fact that the patient had brought it with him, the severed penis could not be reattached. The fabrics were ruined, and ants had infiltrated them.

The individual was also assessed by a psychiatrist, as he admitted to seeing moving shadows, hearing birds, and insects upon admission. He was otherwise normal, not suicidal, and didn’t claim to be depressed.

The victim was admitted to the hospital and treated with antipsychotic medicines for 14 days.

Cannabis has been widely used for medical and recreational purposes, both officially and illegally, in recent decades, according to the authors of the article. It has many side effects, including psychosis, in addition to the therapeutic benefits.

Since no other psychoactive substances or alcohol were found to have contributed to the patient’s mental illness, it is asserted that the disorder was caused solely by marijuana use.

Cannabis usage has been demonstrated in previous research to raise the risk of psychosis and mental abnormalities that lead to unexpected behavior, even in people who do not have a history of psychiatric disorders.

Doctors say this isn’t the first time a man has self-amputation of the penis while on narcotics.

Doctors planned to make the injured Thai a reconstruction of the penis, but the man moved and the connection with him was cut off.

“The distal penis was deemed too dirty and fragile for reconstruction,” the doctors said.

“The amputated distal part of the penis was contaminated with ants and had fragile dorsal veins.”
