It was reported by The Times on Thursday, April 8th.

The 83-year-old hotel owner, Richard Lexington Sutton, was attacked the night before at his home near Gillingham, Dorset. The police arrived at the crime scene after a call from one of the neighbors. Law enforcers found Sutton with a knife wound. Death was pronounced at 21:15 local time.

In addition, a 60-year-old woman who was in the house, presumably the wife of a businessman, was stabbed. She was taken by helicopter to a Bristol hospital, her condition is assessed as critical.

Police detained a 34-year-old man from Gillingham who knew the victim. As established by law enforcement officers, the murder suspect drove out of the Sutton estate in a Range Rover towards London.

The police tracked the car for almost 200 km and detained the man already in London. The murder suspect was taken to hospital with no life-threatening injuries. At the moment, the motives for the crime have not been disclosed.

Note that Richard Sutton, with a fortune of $ 415 million, was ranked 435th in the list of the richest people in Britain, according to The Sunday Times. He owned several hotels, including the five-star Sheraton Grand and the Ateneum on Park Lane in London.
