In a late Monday night incident in East Nashville, a woman was seriously wounded after being shot by her brother.
Just before 10 p.m. Monday, Metro police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Neill Avenue.
Officers arrived on the site and spotted a woman who had been shot and seriously injured by her brother. It was the woman’s birthday, according to Metro police.
According to the arrest warrant, the two siblings had a heated argument inside the house, which escalated when the brother began beating his sister with a baseball bat.
Following the assault, the brother pulled out a revolver and fired multiple shots at his sister.
Aljuando Deiardrae Hines, 45, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. On a $75,000 bond, he remains in the Metro jail.
A warrant was issued for the property, and detectives are still on the scene.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, but her condition has now stabilized.
