The Los Angeles Police managed to pull the pilot out seconds before the train slammed into the plane.

On Sunday, January 9, authorities in a Los Angeles neighborhood were able to rescue the pilot from the crashed plane seconds before the train crushed it.

A single-engine Cessna 172 was reported to have crashed onto rail tracks near Whiteman Airport.

“I was walking my dog,” said Rocio Duran, a witness. “I saw the police going and saw the plane was down.”

According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey, only the pilot was on board.

The Los Angeles Police Bureau reported that the plane lost power and crashed onto train tracks adjacent to Whiteman Airport in Pacoima.

The police managed to pull the pilot out seconds before the approaching train collided with the plane.

The paramedics took the pilot to the hospital, he is in stable condition.
