The arrival of a 16-inch MacBook Pro now seems certain. It remains only to be seen when Apple will choose to bring this new model of its laptop to market. Today there are new rumours about this, coming from sources considered aware of the collaborations that bind the Cupertino company to the supplier chain: the production phase seems to have already started.

Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro: production started

We have written about the device several times in the past on these pages, the first time even in February, and then return to the topic in June with the dissemination of new details and more recently showing its design. There is therefore only one official announcement that rumours suggest could be staged within a month or at least before 15 December. Check to see if the product will arrive on the shelves in time for the Christmas holiday shopping season.

The timing for the start of the production phase may have been somewhat influenced by the new tariffs imposed by the United States for imports from China, initially scheduled for September and then postponed until next month. This is part of the wider issue of the trade war between the two superpowers, which, despite the various meetings between the leaders and the negotiations so far, has not yet reached a handshake.

The 16-inch MacBook could be enclosed in a form factor similar in size to the 15-inch model thanks to an optimization of the design and in particular a significant reduction in the frames surrounding the display. A solution adopted today by almost any manufacturer of the laptop segment. Other innovations introduced should include abandoning the problematic Butterfly keyboard in favour of a Scissor mechanism with the addition of the Esc button loudly requested by users.
