During the event ‘Smarter Living 2020’, focused on India, Xiaomi has decided to update its TV line, which now presents us with a finer design, with premium finishes and a new image processor with which they promise “images more alive and full of color. “

This new family of televisions is known as Mi TV 4X, and it is actually an update regarding the Mi TV 4 line that is currently on sale in China. So several elements are maintained but others are incorporated, such as a new size and the mentioned processor.

The battle of Smart TVs is in China

These new Mi TV 4X arrive in three sizes: 43, 50 and 65 inches. As part of its design we now have 11 mm frames and aluminum finish for both the frame and the supports. The resolution is 4K with support for HDR 10.

The three televisions integrate ‘Vivid Picture Engine’, a technology developed by Xiaomi that, they say, is able to choose the brightness, contrast, saturation and other parameters to have a “perfect” display, in something they have called the “definitive visual experience “. According to Xiaomi, the Mi TV 4X can reproduce up to 88% of the NTSC color gamut.

Within the Mi TV 4X we also have the new ‘Reality Flow Chip’, which, according to the specifications, allows to increase the rate from 24 to 60 fps with up to 8 million additional pixels.

As for the sound, the 65-inch version arrives with 20W, through two tweeters and two woofers, with DTS-HD technology and Dolby Audio. While the interface is the new version of PatchWall 2.0, which is based on Android 9 Pie and allows you to use it as if it were a Chromecast. By the way, Netflix and Prime Video are joining PatchWall, so the Xiaomi platform continues to grow now with two important services.

In the connectivity part we have dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 4 HDMI ports (which version has not been announced), as well as 2 USB, an Ethernet port, optical output, AV input and antenna socket.

These televisions will go on sale initially in India on September 29 and so far there is no information about an international deployment. It is curious that India was chosen as the first country for the launch of these premium TVs and not China.

The prices are as follows:

  • My 43-inch 4X TV: 316 euros
  • My 50-inch 4X TV: 379 euros
  • My 65-inch 4X TV: 695 euros

It should also be noted that Xiaomi presented a Mi TV 4A, which arrives with a 40-inch Full HD panel for just 225 euros.
