Trump threatens John Bolton with ‘bombs’ for his controversial book

US President Donald Trump has lashed out at his former national security adviser John Bolton, threatening him and using bellicose language after the publication of some excerpts from his controversial book about his time at the White House.

“Bolton broke the law and has been called out and rebuked for so doing, with a really big price to pay. He likes dropping bombs on people, and killing them. Now he will have bombs dropped on him!” Wrote the president.

Judge Royce C. Lamberth of the District of Columbia had rejected Trump’s request to block the publication of the book, but he did criticize its contents.

The magistrate wrote that Bolton’s memoirs “probably endangered national security,” but that, with more than 200,000 copies already distributed, “the damage is done.” “You cannot restore the status quo,” he added.

According to the judge, “Bolton has played with the national security of the United States. He has exposed himself and his country to civil (and potentially criminal) liability. But these facts do not control the motion in court. While Bolton’s unilateral conduct raises grave national security concerns, the government has not established that an injunction is an appropriate remedy.”

In turn, Trump supported Lamberth’s opinion, defining it as a “GREAT COURT VICTORY against Bolton”.

The book, The Room Where It Happened, appears to contain Bolton’s outrageous accusations against the president. According to the Washington Post, Bolton wrote in the book that Trump is “erratic”, that he is “stunningly uninformed” and called Trump incompetent and “unfit for office.”
