Japan’s prime minister plans to resign for health reasons

Speculation about Abe’s state of health had recently increased following the prime minister’s recent visits to a hospital in the capital

The Prime Minister of JapanShinzo Abe, announced this Friday his intention to resign to prevent national politics from being affected by a worsening of his health, as indicated by the Prime Minister in statements collected by the NHK.

The channel reported that on August 24, Abe learned that his chronic disease had worsened, and decided to resign so that his “state of health does not affect political decisions.”
