A 101-year-old youthful American revealed his secret to longevity.

A resident of the U.S. city of Milwaukee, 101-year-old Jake Jacobson looks and feels much younger.

The American was vice president of human resources at a finance company and retired in 1981 at the age of 64. For the past nine years, he has lived in a separate apartment in a nursing home.

The man believes that one of the first problems of ageing is lagging behind life. Jacobson reads the Wall Street Journal and the local Milwaukee newspaper daily, as well as Time, Sports Illustrated, and Scientific American.

The man himself notes that he has no secret. It takes a little discipline, good genes, exercise and diet, he says. At 101, Jacobson monitors nutrition and remains physically active. Previously, the man ran marathons.

Also, long-liver does not give up modern technologies. He notes that he likes the Internet for the opportunity to receive information and communication. Jacobson’s wife was 21 years junior to him and died of cancer in 2011.

The American believes that it is important to be kind and be yourself. He believes that it is necessary to behave with others in the way you want others to behave with you. He also notes that he wants to be remembered by people as a good guy, and this is enough for him.

“I think my philosophy has been do unto others as you would like done unto you,” in his own words. “I would I like to be remembered for being a good guy that’s enough!”

This was reported by the TMJ 4 TV channel.
