They’re here! A pyramid-sized asteroid and a larger one are approaching Earth

Published on

This month there are several asteroids that will pass close to our planet, but there are two that caught their attention, one because it is the size of the famous pyramid of Giza and another because it is the largest of all.

The one that is the size of the Giza pyramid is the 2020 TYI asteroid but compared to the largest one, it could be said that this is as small as a peanut because WO107 is so large that it can be compared to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

On November 7, the 2020 TYI that is between 79 and 180 meters in diameter will pass close to our planet Earth at a distance of 3.5 million miles equivalent to 14 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon. This in spatial terms is classified by NASA as a ear-Earth objects (NEOs), so it has been monitored since it was found to be capable of representing a danger to Earth.

While on November 29, the asteroid WO107, which has an estimated diameter of 370 and 820 meters, will pass close to our planet, although for the moment this is expected to happen at a safe distance.
