Anti-covid paper can destroy SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus up to 100% in 30 minutes.

A team of researchers from the Czech Republic Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals (ICPF) in collaboration with the company SPM Security Paper Mill have created a paper capable of eliminating bacteria and viruses, said Jiri Sobek, ICPF scientist.

“The new paper can kill bacteria in one minute with 99% effectiveness. Trials with viruses similar to the one that causes COVID-19 showed that it kills 70% in 10 minutes and all in half an hour,” Sobek told the journalists.

The researcher explained that an additive with zinc and silver nanostructures is used in the manufacturing of the sheets, which are the ones that kill bacteria and viruses.

The innovation, which the inventors callAnti-COVID paper or Anti-virus paper‘, can be used in offices, hospitals, as well as in other areas where there is a high risk of contagions such as the production of paper money which is considered one of the largest sources of transmission of bacteria and viruses.

Sobek advanced that the first ten tons of the product will soon begin to be produced, the plan is to manufacture between 10,000 and 20,000 tons of the anti-COVID paper.
