According to the research results, people with these traits survived restrictive measures better and had lower stress levels.

The work notes that social isolation due to COVID-19 can lead to serious psychological consequences, including increased stress and the development of depression.

Psychopathy, as the study points out, is characterized by a lack of empathy, social dominance, manipulativeness, and impulsivity, and thrill-seeking. According to the research results, people with these traits survived restrictive measures better and had lower stress levels. The emotional level of participants with mood swings and unstable psyche was significantly lower.

The survey was conducted from March 10 to June 2, 2020. The final sample consisted of 619 people with an average age of 31.3 years.

As Maria Maria Caruso, associate professor of the Department of General and Social Psychology of Tyumen State University explained that psychopathic traits, in general, allow a person to better endure crisis situations.

At the same time, according to RUDN University professor Marina Artemyeva, people with such disabilities can harm their loved ones: for example, by visiting restaurants and concerts without a mask during the period of coronavirus infection.

Worldwide, according to the latest WHO data, there are 114.4 million infected, and according to the estimates of Johns Hopkins University, their number has already exceeded 115 million. Doctors failed to save more than two and a half million people.
