Many online fans were concerned about Kim Kardashian’s credentials when Debra Messing called her out for taking an SNL hosting position without any acting experience.

Would a reality star turned businesswoman be able to carry an entire episode of sketches?

If Kim Kardashian’s confidence in her SNL marketing videos is any indicator, the founder of SKIMS should be fine.

Kim Kardashian appeared calm and Instagram-ready in a short sequence of promo videos for her show. She was wearing a sparkling salon hairstyle and what appeared to be a Balenciaga crushed velvet top (with, of course, gloves attached to the sleeves), and she sarcastically dismissed Saturday Night Live star Cecily Strong’s nerve concerns.

“Kim K: Hi, Kim Kardashian West and I’m hosting SNL this week with Halsey.
Cecily Strong: So Kim, are you nervous about doing sketch comedy? 
Kim: Why? I don’t have to write sketches do I? 
Cecily: No. 
Kim: Memorize lines? 
Halsey: No, they’re on cue cards. 
Kim: Everyone else won’t look as good as me, will they? 
Cecily: No, absolutely not. 
Kim: This is so easy. 
Cecily: Yeah, well I guess it is. “

No writing, no remembering lines, and no more attractive co-stars? This episode should be a piece of cake. Kim Kardashian demonstrated her sense of humour by mocking her own lack of experience. Sometimes that’s all that’s required.

In fact, non-actors such as athletes, politicians, and singers have hosted Saturday Night Live. Some of them, such as former NBA great Charles Barkley, have gone on to host many times. Kim Kardashian could do so well that she ends up as an SNL regular. At the very least, her visit should spark some funny parodies of the Kardashians – fingers crossed for a remake of ‘Waking Up With Kimye’ starring the real Kim K.

On October 9, 2021, at 11:30 p.m. EST, Kim Kardashian will headline Saturday Night Live. She’ll be accompanied by musical guest Halsey, who recently released her fourth studio album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, as well as an accompanying HBO Max short film.
