Jamie Foxx reveals why he never married and probably never will

Jamie Foxx explains why he hasn’t married and probably won’t.

The Django Unchained star, 53, opened up about marriage and fatherhood, admitting he’s never married since it didn’t feel right for him.

He explained that the ‘traditional’, ‘cookie cutter’ lifestyle with the ‘2.5 children, the wood paneling on the station wagon and the cottage, I didn’t think that was for me’.

Jamie also believes his relationship with his children is stronger because he was never married to their mothers.

He has two daughters: Corrine Foxx, 27, and Annalise Bishop, 12, from his relationships with Connie Kline and Kristin Grannis respectively.

While neither relationship worked out, Jamie says that he and his children ‘came together more’ when his relationship with their mothers ended.

‘I don’t know what that is, I just know that it is different but it’s a whole lot of love,’ he told E News’ Daily Pop, as he promoted his new book Act Like You Got Some Sense: And Other Things My Daughters Taught Me.

But when a marriage comes to an end, he says, ‘the kids get fractures from their families’.

The actor and author admitted his family don’t talk to him about ‘the pressure of [him] being married’, despite him having been in several long-term relationships, most recently with Katie Holmes.

The pair eventually called time on their relationship in 2019 after spending six years together.

As for his daughters, they’re in no rush to see their father get married, Foxx says: ‘They just love their daddy and I just keep moving.’

But while Corrine may not be putting pressure on him, dad Jamie certainly knows how to keep the pressure on her relationships.

Last week, the Oscar nominee appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he revealed he once got Snoop Dogg to intimidate his daughter’s new boyfriend to make sure he treated her right.

He told the audience: ‘Snoop walked over to my daughter’s boyfriend and just said, “Hey, what’s up, cuz? We her uncles, you know what I’m saying? So act accordingly, homie.”

‘The underlying meaning of it was that I wanted the young man to understand that she’s got people that really love her, so that if something does go wrong, Snoop is coming.’

We’re willing to bet that intimidation tactic worked.
