Brad Pitt says “strippers changed [his] life”

It wasn’t Hollywood that tempted Brad Pitt out of college, but chicken suits and strippers in cars.

Brad Pitt had aspired to be a big figure in Hollywood since he was a teenager, but his path to becoming one was not easy.

The 57-year-old Oscar winner, who rose to prominence in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, discovered that his first taste of California was not what he expected.

Brad intended to be an art director and was studying at the University of Missouri when the allure of Hollywood got too strong.

Brad stated that movies were “a portal into different worlds,” and he dropped out of college just weeks before graduating to pursue his acting dreams in Los Angeles.

Brad appeased his parents by enrolling in Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design, but he chose to take acting classes rather than pursue a more scholarly path.

Brad began his career at this time, and while he is today recognized for his ability to transform into a character on the big screen, he had to use his imagination to bring to life a large rooster as he had to dress as a chicken to draw punters into a restaurant.

While doing so, he was also required to work as a chauffeur, driving a limousine that carried strippers to different destinations to earn some extra cash.

Explaining what he had to do, Brad said previously: “My job was to drive them to bachelor parties and things.

“I’d pick them up, and at the gig I’d collect the money, play the bad Prince tapes and catch the girls’ clothes.

“It was not a wholesome atmosphere, and it got very depressing.”

While reflecting on his journey from college to Hollywood, the actor said: “When I left Missouri I wasn’t ready to call it quits as far as getting out into the world.

“It wasn’t leaving something behind, it was heading for something that was nascent and ill-defined.

“I did not know what it would be when I got to L.A., and to me not knowing that has always been the most exciting thing about making a trip.”

Brad said that the “strippers changed [his] life” and one of the girls he met introduced him to Roy London’s acting classes.

This led to him landing uncredited acting parts and path to eventual superstardom.

Speaking about his time at the acting classes, Brad said: “I sat in on a few classes, and they just felt a little guru-ish and just didn’t feel right to me.

“Until I met Roy, He was tough, lovely, compassionate, tough. I give him full credit for pointing me in this direction…I learned so much from that man. I miss him.”
