Just lick it! Japan develops a TV that shows how food tastes

Those who wish can experience the flavor of food by licking the screen at the time it is displayed.

A Japanese scientist Homei Miyashita has created a prototype television known as Taste the TV (TTTV) that allows the user to lick the screen and taste a range of flavors based on what is displayed on the screen.

Have you ever craved something just by watching it on television? You may no longer need to go buy the soda you saw in the commercial. Because this Japanese invention has used artificial intelligence so that a person, just by licking the television, can recreate their favorite flavor.

Obviously, Taste the TV (TTTV) – that’s the name of the device – does not take away hunger, but it does open the way to technological morbidity and gluttony.

Although it is not yet a product for sale – it is still a perfectible prototype, according to its creators – this new television has 10 canisters of flavors that are sprayed to recreate the taste of specific food or drink: a hamburger, a coffee, a cheesecake or a chocolate bar.

And, for those who believe it is an unsanitary device, it is not necessary for the user to lick the screen directly because there is an antibacterial sheet that cleans itself, which can be activated or disabled depending on the situation.

“The goal is to make it possible for people to have the experience of something like eating at a restaurant on the other side of the world, even while staying at home,” Miyashita explained and noted that in the coronavirus pandemic, this technology is especially valuable.

The cost of the invention after entering the market, according to the scientist, will be about $ 875.
