Stomach pain with this sensation could be a sign of Pancreatic cancer, warn experts

Published on

Pancreatic cancer has a poor prognosis. It’s tough to detect and it’s even more difficult to treat. Some specialists believe that symptoms of it can be detected, and that the sooner they are detected, the better.

Pancreatic cancer is regarded as one of the most difficult and dangerous malignancies to overcome.

According to estimates, only about 5% of individuals with the disease survive for 10 years or longer, though it should be noted that this is across a wide age range.

With this particular type of cancer being so tough to treat and obviously having such an affect on its sufferers owing to the low survival rates, it is critical for people with the disease to recognize signs and symptoms early on.

So, what are the warning signals and how can you recognize them?

Cancerous cells that reproduce in the pancreas ducts – which account for more than 90% of cases – cause distinct disease signs. A “tumor pressing on the stomach,” for example, can trigger gastrointestinal problems.

As such, one sensation that may result in nausea can be severe enough to trigger vomiting in some people.

The sense of indigestion is another symptom that could arise.

Indigestion is usually not a sign of anything serious, but do alert your GP if you suffer from the condition quite frequently.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, appetite loss may also be a warning indication of pancreatic cancer.

Three feelings that alert you to the presence of pancreatic cancer

  1. Loss of appetite
  2. Indigestion
  3. Nausea.

Swelling in the abdomen and fatigue are further symptoms of pancreatic cancer.

These are not typically considered serious symptoms, which is one of the reasons why pancreatic cancer can go undiscovered for such a long time.

If people suspect something is wrong, they should consult their doctor, who may notice things like unexpected weight loss.
