A natural supplement that lowers blood sugar levels “after meal” by up to 30%

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a universal issue that contributes considerably to the increase in the incidence of conditions including cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Diabetes type 2 is a major public health concern. Glucose homeostasis dysfunction affects more than 75 percent of the US population over 65.

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease in which blood sugar levels can become dangerously high. This danger is caused by insufficient insulin synthesis. Insulin’s main function is to keep blood sugar levels in check. If you have type 2 diabetes, you’ll need to find other ways to keep your blood sugar in check.

Diet has a critical role in blood sugar regulation by reducing blood sugar rises after meals.

Certain products have shown to be exceptionally effective at producing results.

A study published in BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies found that taking clove extract supplements can lower blood sugar levels.

Cloves are the dried flower buds of the Syzygium aromaticum tree, and they’ve been used as a spice for hundreds of years.

“One particularly valuable clove extract contains a minimum of 30 percent total polyphenols, including gallic, chlorogenic, and ellagic acids, catechin, quercetin, and eugenol, all of which have health benefits,” said researchers in the study.

Previous studies have shown that this clove extract can improve insulin resistance in the liver, which is one of the body’s most important organs (along with fat and muscle).

In light of these findings, experts have hypothesized that polyphenol-rich clove extract may be beneficial for the metabolic control of glucose in adults.

The study selected 13 healthy volunteers (ages 25-35) and divided them into two groups based on their pre-meal glucose levels.

After-meal glucose levels in group one were normal, but glucose levels in group two were high.

On day one, participants were given a regular lunch immediately after the blood collection, and then a 250 mg capsule of clove extract was given to everyone straight after lunch.

A post-meal glucose level was done two hours later. This pattern was repeated every day for 30 days, with glucose levels collected before and after meals on days 12, 24, and 30.

The study found that in those with normal fasting glucose, clove supplementation had no impact on fasting glucose (before-meal) sugar levels.

However, on days 24 and 30, clove extract generated significant reductions in pre-meal (fasting) glucose in the prediabetic group.

This shows that clove extract could benefit individuals with prediabetes maintain normal blood sugar levels throughout the day, which puts them at higher risk for cardiovascular events and type II diabetes, according to the researchers.

Furthermore, clove extract significantly reduced after-meal blood sugar levels in both trial groups.

Over the course of the 30-day research, the average reduction in post-meal sugar levels was 21.5 percent in the healthy group and 27.2 percent in the prediabetes group.
