Nearly 80% of Russians trust in President Vladimir Putin’s decision

The degree of trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin has risen in the last week, with 78 percent of Russians trusting him and 79 percent approving of his performance, according to a poll published on Friday by Russia’s Public Opinion Foundation (FOM).

Russians trust Putin 75 percent of the time, and 74 percent of them are satisfied with his job performance, according to a poll taken last week.

When asked whether the president does “rather well” or “rather badly,” 79 percent said he does does well, 11 percent said he does badly, and 11 percent were unsure.

Furthermore, 78 percent of respondents indicated they trust the president, while 13 percent said they don’t trust him and 8 percent didn’t respond.

The Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTsIOM) found similar results, revealing that Putin had a 77.9 percent approval rating and an 80.6 percent confidence rating.

The FOM survey of Russian adults was performed on Sunday among 1,500 participants from 104 Russian towns and villages, with a margin of error of no more than 3.6 percent. Over 1,600 adults participated in the VCIOM Sputnik initiative survey, which was conducted from March 14 to March 20.
