This Blood Group Tends To Be Most Risky For People

Angina, heart attacks, and heart failure are all linked to heart disease. As a result, the best way to live longer is to reduce your risk of developing a health issue. However, one contributing component is unchangeable.

Harvard School of Public Health research suggests that your blood type may affect your chance of getting heart disease. Lu Qi, a senior author and assistant professor, and his colleagues identified the blood groups that are “the most dangerous.” People with blood types A, B, or AB, according to their research, have a higher risk of coronary heart disease than individuals with blood type O. The blood group AB is associated with the highest risk of heart disease among individuals at risk.

“While people cannot change their blood type, our findings may help physicians better understand who is at risk for heart disease,” says Assistant Professor Qi.

“It’s good to know your blood type in the same way you should know your cholesterol or blood pressure numbers.”

“If you know you’re at higher risk, you can reduce the risk by adopting a healthier lifestyle, such as eating right, exercising, and not smoking.”

The data came from two long-running research studies that included 89,550 participants over a 20-year span.

People with the blood type AB were 23 percent more likely than others to develop heart disease.

People with type B blood had an 11 percent higher risk, while those with type A blood had a 5 percent higher risk.

Doctor Mahammad Juber noted that those with blood group O have a lower risk of heart disease as well as stomach cancer.

“Specifically, people with type A blood are more likely to get stomach cancer,” adds Doctor Juber.

“Researchers think this might be because H. pylori infection is more common in people with type A blood.”

“That’s a bacteria that’s usually found in the stomach. It can cause inflammation and ulcers.”

People with type AB blood may be more prone to memory issues, whereas those with type A blood may have higher levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.

Blood type 0 women, on the other hand, were more likely to have less healthy eggs.

While you can’t change your blood type, you can reduce your disease risk by living a healthy lifestyle.

A healthy lifestyle includes eating well-balanced diet, not smoking, and exercising on a regular basis.
