Processed Food that Could Help You Burn More Visceral Fat

Some processed foods have a place in healthy diets.

Certain processed foods can indeed play a role in maintaining a healthy diet. For instance, low-fat milk, whole-grain or wheat bread, pre-cut vegetables, and fresh-cut greens are categorized as processed foods.

Additionally, some kinds of milk and juices are enriched with vitamin D and calcium, while breakfast cereals may contain added fiber. Canned fruits packed in water or natural fruit juice can also be included in a nutritious diet when fresh fruit is not readily accessible.

According to a recent study, wholegrain wheat bread has the remarkable ability to “significantly” reduce levels of abdominal fat.

Whether you opt to invest time in crafting your own bread from scratch or simply purchase it from a nearby grocery store, bread remains an indispensable staple found in every kitchen.

With its assortment of shapes, sizes, and flavors, this versatile and affordable food can be transformed into a quick breakfast, lunch, or snack within seconds.

While many people favor the traditional white loaf, a study recently published in the journal Plant Foods for Human Nutrition presents a compelling argument for a different variety of bread.

In the study, which involved 50 Japanese participants, the researchers assigned the subjects to follow a diet comprising either refined wheat bread or wholegrain wheat bread for a period of 12 weeks.

Throughout the study, blood samples were collected, and computed tomography (CT) scans were conducted every six weeks to monitor the participants’ progress.

At the conclusion of the research, the group that consumed wholegrain wheat bread experienced a noticeable reduction in their visceral fat levels.

On the other hand, the participants who consumed refined bread did not observe the same benefits.

The researchers noted, “These time-dependent changes were significantly different between the groups.”

For those unaware, visceral fat, commonly known as belly fat, resides deep within the abdominal cavity, enveloping vital organs like the liver and pancreas.

This location renders the fatty substance particularly detrimental as it can contribute to serious health issues, including heart disease and diabetes.

Fortunately, the study revealed that wholegrain bread managed to decrease visceral fat by approximately four centimeters.

The research team concluded that a diet incorporating wholegrain wheat bread could potentially aid in preventing obesity-related visceral fat accumulation.
