One Surprising Sign of Extremely High Cholesterol You Shouldn’t Ignore, According to Expert

Published on

The expert says “Many people mistakenly think this is just part of growing older,” but they don’t know it could be the first sign of extremely high cholesterol.

Abbas Kanani, an experienced pharmacist from Chemist Click Online Pharmacy, unveils signs indicating alarmingly increased levels of cholesterol.

Excessive cholesterol may not always exhibit symptoms. However, when levels spike critically, signs can emerge.

Kanani issues a warning about Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), a severe condition engendered by an overflow of cholesterol. This malady develops when there’s an accumulation of plaque within artery walls, hindering blood circulation to crucial body parts including legs, feet, kidneys, arms, and stomach.

A distinctive, early indicator of PAD, as highlighted by Kanani, is experiencing sharp, uncomfortable pain in the legs while in motion, subsiding upon taking a brief break.

This sensation, known in medical parlance as intermittent claudication, usually afflicts both legs simultaneously, albeit with varied intensity levels from one leg to the other.

“Pain can vary from mild to severe and tends to stop after a few minutes when you rest your legs,” Kanani added.

Symptoms linked with PAD include aches, fatigue, and discomfort in legs and feet, especially during physical activities.

Should these leg pains recur persistently during exercise, it’s imperative to consult your general practitioner immediately, advises Kanani.

“Many people mistakenly think this is just part of growing older, but there’s no reason why an otherwise healthy person should experience leg pain,” he remarked.

Elevated cholesterol levels are perilous, posing risks like PAD, strokes, and cardiac events.

Factors like dietary choices and physical activity significantly impact cholesterol accumulation.

Opting for a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet increases the risk of cholesterol-related issues.

Upon noticing high cholesterol symptoms, medical intervention is often required.

Regardless of potential medication, like statins, it’s vital to adopt a health-conscious lifestyle for longevity.

For optimal health, experts recommend replacing processed treats with wholesome alternatives, including fruits, nuts, and seeds.
