Natural Arthritis Fix That Could Ease Your Symptoms Within Weeks

Arthritis is a broad category of conditions typified by joint inflammation.

Even though there’s no current definitive cure for arthritis, it’s possible to alleviate its bothersome symptoms by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

In the journal Nutrients, a study revealed that a fruit-based drink might effectively alleviate these symptoms.

In the study, a beverage made from strawberries significantly mitigated knee pain and inflammation in individuals with osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent type of inflammatory condition in the UK and is known for causing stiff and painful joints.

In this study, 17 adults diagnosed with osteoarthritis were guided to ingest a strawberry beverage made from 50-gram freeze-dried strawberry powder mixed with water.

This specially prepared drink supplied about 1500mg of polyphenols and 66mg of anthocyanins, two classes of bioactive compounds noted for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

After a 12-week period of this protocol, the participants reported a notable decrease in knee pain and inflammatory indicators.

Although it might not be easy to replicate the exact drink used in the study, Mays Al-Ali, a nutritionist and yoga teacher from Healthy Mays, proposed that simply consuming berries could be beneficial.

The expert pointed out that to match the 50-gram freeze-dried strawberries quantity used in the study, one would need to consume 300g of fresh strawberries.

For those who may not particularly like strawberries, the nutritionist suggested other berries could be a viable alternative.

“Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries,” according to Al-Ali, “have shown promising results in reducing pain and inflammation in arthritis.

“There is also some evidence on the role of specific fruit polyphenols, such as quercetin and citrus flavonoids in reducing rheumatoid arthritis symptoms.

“These commonly consumed berries, such as blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are a rich source of several polyphenols including anthocyanins, quercetin, and various types of phenolic acids.”
