The drug destroys the virus without damaging the tissues of the mouth and nasal cavities. It prevents the virus from entering cells.
Scientists in Turkey have developed a nasal spray that destroys the coronavirus in one minute, and thus prevents infection.
A solution called Genoxyn Nasal Spray was developed by scientists at Uludağ University’s Medical Microbiology Department, with the help of Çukurova universities to test the antimicrobial and antiviral effects of the drug.
“The death of the virus in a short time means preventing its entry into the cells and reducing the virus’s number. If the solution can prevent contamination, it will be a good protector for us,” says the project participant Ahmet Ümit Sabancı.
At the same time, according to the developers, the drug destroys the virus without damaging the tissues of the oral and nasal cavities.
The primary formula of the drug was developed about two years ago, it has now been improved using nanotechnology, after which a positive result of action in the destruction of coronavirus was recorded. It is noted that the drug acts not only on COVID-19, but also on other viruses, bacteria and fungi.
