Suffering from a Cold or Flu? The Secret Supplement that Promises to Cut Recovery Time in Half

Don’t Let Cold and Flu Drag You Down: A proven method for speedy recovery from the severity of symptoms triggered by the common cold or the influenza virus.

While COVID-19 continues to dominate headlines, the renowned Dr. Hilary Jones has raised an alarm about a different threat this winter – the influenza virus.

During his appearance on ITV’s ‘Lorraine,’ the esteemed TV doctor emphasized that, this winter, the flu poses a more significant risk than COVID-19.

While the flu can bring about severe complications for some individuals, the majority recover within a few days. Nevertheless, the symptoms of this respiratory illness, including high fever, sore throat, and body aches, can be quite unpleasant.

The good news is that a breakthrough supplement has shown promise in expediting recovery from this viral adversary.

This supplement harnesses the power of elderberry, also known as Sambucus, a flowering plant belonging to the Adoxaceae family. Rich in antioxidants with immune-boosting properties, elderberry supplements have demonstrated the potential to reduce the duration and severity of influenza symptoms, as per research findings published in the ‘Nutrients‘ journal.

To test the efficacy of these potent berries, a team of researchers conducted a study involving 312 air travelers. The study highlighted an increased risk of respiratory illnesses, such as the flu, during commercial flights.

Study participants were assigned either 300-milligram elderberry extract capsules or a placebo. Notably, these elderberry supplements contained a range of minerals, trace elements, and vitamins, including elevated levels of magnesium.

Participants began taking the supplements or placebos ten days before their travel and continued for four to five days after reaching their destinations.

Fascinatingly, the results indicated that those on the elderberry supplement who fell ill experienced only mild symptoms and a quicker recovery than anticipated. Travelers who took elderberry pills in this manner averaged a two-day reduction in the duration of their illness.

Moreover, the study noted a low incidence of adverse side effects, with no direct attributions to the supplement.

However, it is worth mentioning that the study received funding from a company specializing in elderberry supplements. Additionally, researchers pointed out the need for further studies to confirm the potential benefits of elderberry in stabilizing physical health during air travel.
