Instagram may have found its trump card to curb the continued rise of TikTok, the video social network that is now popular in the whole world. The weapon of Facebook’s sister platform would be called “Scenes” and should be an advanced video editor for Stories.
Instagram tests “Scenes” to counter TikTok
The news is unofficial, however, the source of the leak is very reliable since it is an expert leaker of the social and able to find anticipations on the same, which usually turn out to be quite reliable.
“Scenes” would be a video editor available directly within the app, in the section dedicated to Stories, which would allow you to create clips enriched with special effects, augmented reality effects, music and other tricks. It seems that the feature is not entirely new: it should be a revisited and improved version of “Clips”, the previous Instagram video editor, which remained in the test phase.
Instagram is working on Scenes, a TikTok-like video editing/remixing tool for Stories
Other users will be able to remix your "Scenes" if your account is public
You are given music, video speed, timer, AR Effect, etc to edit each clip

It is not known when the novelty could be implemented for all users. To tell the truth it is not even certain that in the end “Scenes” (which could perhaps be called “Scene” in Italian?) In the future become a feature available in a stable way within the application. However, it is clear that Zuckerberg, together with his team, is looking for a way to compete with TikTok : using Instagram instead of starting from scratch, creating a new platform and trying to engage users, would definitely be the best way to go .
