This weekend in Fresno County, a 2-year-old boy was killed by a car.

The accident occurred just before 6:45 p.m. on the park’s south end.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the toddler’s parents and other family members were packing their car and thought the small boy was inside, not aware he was on the road.

That’s when a Chevy Silverado’s tire slammed with the toddler on the road.

According to the CHP, the Silverado’s driver, a male in his forties, immediately dialed 911 and remained at the site.

There is no evidence that drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

According to the CHP, the investigation into the incident is complete, and the driver will not face any charges.
