The attackers, having arrived by car, opened fire on people and fled. A reward of $ 75,000 has been announced for information about their whereabouts.

Authorities reported six people were shot Saturday in Northwest D.C., with three of them killed.

According to DC Police Chief Robert Contee, the incident occurred just before 8 p.m. local time near the intersection of 7th Street and Longfellow Street in Brighwood Park.

One DC resident told WUSA’s Kolbie Saterfield that the shooting sounded like fireworks were being set off.

All of the victims are thought to be adults. The identities of those who died have not yet been made public.

“It’s very frustrating. And we’ve been talking about gun violence for a long time,” Contee remarked during a briefing.

The wounded were hospitalized and out of any danger.

Contee is urging local residents to review any surveillance devices installed on their property in order to assist with the further probe.

The authorities are asking everyone who saw the dark Honda Accord with tinted windows and chrome wheels, in which the intruders left, to call 911.

A reward of $ 75,000 has been announced for information about the criminals.
