Saturday morning, sirens could be heard in Vinnytsia, Lutsk, Rivne, Lviv, Cherkasy, Uman, and Kherson, as well as Voznesensk, Odesa, and Kharkiv.

An air raid alert was announced in at least seven regions of Ukraine on Saturday morning, February 26, according to the State Service for Special Communications.

On Saturday morning, sirens sounded in Vinnytsia, Lutsk and Rivne.

Later, an air raid alert was announced in Lviv.

Around 6:30 sirens sounded in Cherkassy and Uman. And at 6:40 an air alert was announced in Kherson. Later, social networks reported an alarm in Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region, Odesa and Kharkiv.

In addition, social networks report that shots are heard in Ternopil and Sumy.

In Vasilkov near Kyiv, the Ukrainian military repelled the attack of Russian paratroopers. This was announced by the mayor of the city Natalya Balasyanovich on Saturday, February 26. The city remained under Ukrainian control.

“Russian paratroopers landed with parachutes in the fields, forests and villages of our community. The worst thing was on Dekabristov Street, there were battles, the street was on fire. They dreamed of capturing our airfield in order to place their combat units. Our powerful 40th brigade repelled the attack,” Balasyanovich said, adding that the city remains under the control of the Ukrainian military.

As of the morning of February 26, fighting with the invaders continues in Kharkiv. The forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are confronting Russian soldiers from the Dergachev, Tsirkunov and Chuguevsky directions. There were attempts to break through the defenses from Vysokoe, Oleg Sinegubov, head of the VGA, said.

According to him, the enemy suffered huge losses, including over a hundred armored vehicles and hundreds of personnel.

At night there were breakthroughs in the defense. Several tanks of the aggressor entered the city but were successfully eliminated by the Ukrainian defenders.

The shells hit the blood center on Alekseevka and the children’s regional hospital. Also at night, residential buildings on Saltyvka and KhTZ were damaged.

There are victims.

Sinegubov asks people not to leave their shelters. A powerful attack of enemy troops from artillery and aircraft is expected.
