A huge dead hippo farts in Lion’s face

During his adventure through South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, law expert Heike Hochberger managed to capture a rare event of how a dead huge hippo farts directly into the face of a lion.

Heike Hochberger has visited South Luangwa National Park on a number of occasions and in late 2020 was fortunate to return to Zambia despite all the chaos caused by the pandemic. This is an adventure that he will never forget in his life because of the scene he saw and was able to capture there.

I was hoping to see the lions abounding in this corner of the planet again. However, he was unable to detect them until January 6, 2021, he told the Kruger Sightings channel.

Initially, the jungle kings were in a lagoon. And when Hochberger and his friend Stephen saw them again in the afternoon of the same day, where the corpse of a huge hippo was already floating in the water.

However, at one point during the feast, the corpse expelled gases into the lion’s face, producing a loud sound similar to a gunshot. These gases are generated as a consequence of the decomposition process. For its part, the lion made a jab that let them escape out of the corpse.

“Thanks to my friend, Stephen, we had the place with the best perspective. I’ve never seen anything like this before in all the years I’ve been on game drives there. You can’t plan something like that either, it’s just luck to be in the right place at the right time. Anyway, I can say that the South Luangwa National Park is once beautiful parks and definitely worth a visit” says Heike Hochberger.
