The 7 signs you’ve had a stroke without realizing it

Although strokes do not go unnoticed in most cases, sometimes you can be exempt from clear symptoms that are only detected ‘later’. Some experts shared how you can detect a silent stroke.

Many people do not pay due attention to brain health, although even micro-strokes lead to the formation of small affected areas in the brain that are clearly seen on MRI images.

Although most people recover from a stroke quickly and without complications, in up to 15% of cases a stroke can be followed by a more serious stroke. According to experts, consulted by Revyuh, these are the main symptoms of the so-called silent stroke:

  • Vertigo;
  • gait disorders;
  • vision problems;
  • strabism;
  • difficulties in speaking clearly;
  • facial asymmetry;
  • numbness and weakness in the limbs.

The neurologists stressed that people suffering from hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are at a higher risk of having a stroke. You should also be careful if you lead a sedentary lifestyle and are overweight.

As experts point out that prevention measures such as heart rate control, a balanced diet and constant physical activity help “reduce the risk of stroke by up to 80%.”
