According to the latest reports, the 71-year-old reality television star and transgender rights activist, Caitlyn Jenner is not considering becoming the next governor of California. While there are speculations about her electoral prospects, the television celebrity says she is not contemplating a governorship.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Caitlyn’s manager Sophia Hutchins said that Caitlyn is not seeking to become a governor, and has never reflected on a gubernatorial run. Sophia also stated that Jenner is content by working to promote LGBT rights and having time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children.

Politico had previously reported that Caitlyn Jenner was putting down the political theories that had emerged when Governor Gavin Newsom’s critics were organizing to impose a recall election to remove him.

In recent weeks, the Republican campaign to recall Gavin Newsom has gained traction, even though it faces some political and operational complexities.

As per the reports of the Los Angeles Times, the Republican groups have raised not less than $2.5 million seeking a recall vote for Gavin, and to eventually oust him on losing the election. The Times has reported that a considerable chunk of those funds have been raised by the supporters of Trump, and partially were motivated by negative responses to Newsom’s management of the COVID-19 crisis.

The discontent in some parts regarding his way of managing the pandemic situations and how he conveyed his decisions, was earlier outlined in an article in Times.

The PPC reports on approval ratings of Newsom regarding opinions over the dealing of shutdowns related to COVID-19, show a general divide along the lines of Democratic and Republican parties.

Initially, Jenner supported Trump’s run for the White House before publicly denouncing the LGBT policies of his administration, calling his approach towards issues concerning equality of rights a “disaster”.

According to Reuters, Jenner has earlier jested about seeking political office. The LGBT rights activist had talked about contemplating a political run against Sen. Dianne Feinstein before finally deciding to refrain.

In September, Jenner had stated that “In a lot of ways, it’s really sad that it’s over with. It was such a great vehicle for my kids. The good news is, because of this show and because of their willingness to work, not only on the show but as entrepreneurs, certainly, everybody is going to be fine from this point on.”
